How did the State of New Jersey allow the five democrats with the worst crime records determine the fate of gun control laws for the entire state of NJ?
The five members who sit on the committee and have absolute authority are all Democrats who were elected from the districts with some of the worst crime in the State of New Jersey. This means that 5 democrats from towns with the worst crime statistics in New Jersey (i.e. FAILED POLICIES), are able to mandate how the entire state of of New Jersey will protect the public.
Something just doesn’t seem right about the current situation which law abiding New Jersey firearms owners find themselves in, and they now feel they are being targeted by biased law makers.
490 Towns Survey (The higher the number, the worse the crime):
Charles Mainor (D) Jersey City, NJ 07304 | 473
Gilbert Wilson (D) Camden, NJ 08102 | 489
Joseph Cryan (D) Elizabeth, NJ 07201 | 471
Nancy Pinkin (D) Edison, NJ 08820 | 367
Shavonda Sumter (D) Paterson, NJ 07505 | 477
As we have seen from the way they fast tracked A2006 (reducing the magazine by 5 rounds from standard manufacture capacity), and A2777 (deviations which will not allow citizens to stop for food, patronize NJ businesses or help others in emergency situations); they are obviously governing with a very myopic viewpoint. They have clearly not considered the use of firearms to protect loved owns, and have not put fourth any legislation aimed at stopping criminals or mentally deranged individuals.
As we’ve said from the beginning, if they don’t want criminals or madmen to use greater than 10 bullets in the course of a criminal act, they should increase the mandatory sentences without any chance of early parole and increase the penalties. We have even recommended that they use the Florida (10-20-Life) laws as a blueprint.
If they want to protect the school children in New Jersey, then they should put in the properly trained security personnel in the NJ Schools. They can also mandate that New Jersey’s highly compensated law enforcement forces, patrol and protect our kids.
The 5 democratic members of the law and public safety committee, have a clear majority of the vote, which allows them to continue to pass draconian laws which target the law abiding citizens whom they view as their opposition. Both A2006 and A2777 will have no real effect on crime, we know that from a series of government and private studies; however, they will lead to the arrest of ordinary citizens who have NEVER HARMED ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, because of a differing ideology.
What is the ideological difference?
It’s the belief that all criminal actions should be allowed to take place, without citizen rights to defend oneself. It is a policy of creating a state of victims, rather than providing the right of self-defense. The key sponsor of Bill A2006 Lou Greenwald was recently quoted in the both of NJ top newspapers believing the best policy against mentally deranged criminals, is to have unarmed people, whom he refers to as “brave individuals are able to step up and apprehend those individuals.” We believe that public policy which relies on stopping criminal activity by unarmed school children and citizens to be greatly misguided and reckless.
We see this [victim mindset] over and over again, where only in New Jersey, women cannot carry a stun gun or more than .75 ounce of pepper spray. Their policies are clearly aimed at victimization, rather than self preservation. (*Research confirmed that NJ legislators did not allow stun guns out of fear of killing a criminal with a pacemaker – pure liberal logic!).
Do NOT buy the lies propagated from the 5 democrats on the Law and Public safety committee. They do not represent the majority of what is good in New Jersey, clearly looking at the statistics, they represent what is worst in New Jersey. If you were going to have heart surgery, would you choose your doctor from the bottom 25% of available surgeons?
WE HERE AT RECALL SWEENEY DEMAND THAT THE “LAW AND PUBLIC SAFETY” COMMITTEE HAVE EQUAL REPRESENTATION OF REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS. WE FURTHER DEMAND THAT ALL SEGMENTS OF LIFE ARE EQUALLY REPRESENTED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY, NOT JUST THE BOTTOM WORST 25% OF CRIME STATISTICS – HAVING A MAJORITY VOTE.
THEIR APPEARS TO BE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST WHEN YOU PUT INDIVIDUALS IN CHARGE OF A COMMITTEE, WHICH IF SUCCESSFUL (PREVENTING CRIME) WILL MAKE THEM UNPOPULAR WITH THEIR VOTING BASE.
There is no incentive for the Democratic Members of the Law and Public Safety Committee to be “tough on crime” since that will ensure that they will not be supported by their constituents (towns with the worst criminal element in the State of New Jersey).
Another potential bias is created by including Law Enforcement Officials, whom are connected to powerful public unions, which benefit from increased crime statistics.
Perhaps the State of New Jersey, needs to follow the lead of states like New York and Illinois, and create separate gun control laws for the most problematic cities (i.e. New York City and Chicago). Why should individuals in low crime areas, be held to the lowest standards of society by the actions of a few criminals?
The laws of the high crime cities need to be separated from the state level (then everyone is somewhat happy).
The committee members can use themselves as examples, and create their new gun control laws starting in Jersey City, Camden and Patterson – some of the worst crime cities in the State. If they are successful, then they can roll them out to Newark, Trenton and other high crime areas within the state.
FIX THE COMMITTEE AND WE MIGHT ACTUALLY HAVE A CHANCE OF FIXING NEW JERSEY.
